# One People in Christ — God’s Chosen Identified by Union with Jesus (KJV) > A short, Scripture-only handout showing that in the New Testament the name and privileges of God’s “chosen people” belong to **the Church** (Jew and Gentile together) in Christ. --- ## 1) The Promise to Abraham is fulfilled in **Christ** and in all who believe **Galatians 3:16** — “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” **Galatians 3:7–9** — “Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” **Galatians 3:28–29** — “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” **Ephesians 3:6** — “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.” --- ## 2) One New Man, One Fold — God’s people are **one Church** **Ephesians 2:14–16** — “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.” **John 10:16** — “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.” --- ## 3) One Olive Tree — Jews and Gentiles share the same root **Romans 11:17–18** — “And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.” **Romans 11:24** — “For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?” --- ## 4) Israel’s covenant titles now applied to the **Church** **1 Peter 2:9–10** — “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” --- ## 5) True ‘Israel’ is defined by **faith** and a new heart, not ethnicity alone **Romans 9:6–8** — “Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.” **Romans 2:28–29** — “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.” **Philippians 3:3** — “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” --- ## 6) The kingdom is given to a people who bear its fruits **Matthew 21:43** — “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” --- ## 7) Ongoing gospel hope for ethnic Israel — grafted in **by faith** **Romans 11:23** — “And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.” **Romans 10:12–13** — “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” --- ### A brief summary line to read aloud In the New Testament, God’s “chosen people” are those **in Christ**—the **Church**—made of believing Jews and Gentiles together: one seed (Christ), one body, one olive tree, one holy nation, gathered under one Shepherd. Pray for all, including the Jewish people, to believe and be grafted into this one people by faith in Jesus.
